The world’s deepest river crosses the equator twice

The Congo River, formerly known as the Zaire River, is also the deepest river of the world. It has a length of 4,700 km and originates in the highlands of East Africa and ends at the Atlantic Ocean. During the course of its journey, it crosses the equator twice.
